If Android says the app was not installed

A signature conflict is common when the official app or another build with the same package name is already installed, but it is not the only cause. Storage, a damaged APK, device policy, or an incompatible build can produce similar failures. If you choose to uninstall the existing app, expect local data to be deleted.

If Android cannot parse the package

First check that the download finished and that you opened the APK itself, not a web page, archive, or partial file. This site may not know the exact minimum Android version for every build, so an older device can still be the limiting factor.

If it installs but crashes

Restart the phone, confirm you are using the current published version, and check whether the official app or leftover data is conflicting. Clearing data can help in some cases, but it also deletes local app data, so do it only after you accept that trade-off.

If unlocking stops working

Network state, account state, service-side checks, or a build-specific change can all be involved. A newer build may be needed, but there is no guaranteed fix from reinstalling the same file.
